What are they, and where do they come from?
This is an original idea from the University of Aveiro, as far as we know. It's called Erasmus Buddy; this programme puts a Portuguese student responsible for an Erasmus student. This student should help the erasmus at arrival, bringing him to the university, aiding him in finding a flat and helping him integrate in the University.
So that's quite the same spirit we want the buddies to have; they will be a part of the support team of the OC. Their jobs will range from helping with the planning of the activities to helping with the arrival and integration of the group.
They are needed so that the OC can be more free to deal with logistic issues. In order to synchronise their tasks and the preparations at hand, both the OC and the buddies are required to be in Aveiro a few days earlier.
They will be in constant contact with the delegates, therefore they should be good communicators and have a decent knowledge of the English language, and they will most definitely participate in all the activities. It is needed however for a IRW member to have a fair amount of good humour :D
We want this to be the best IRW ever thrown and to raise the bar!
